A few months ago WWE was really teasing fans with a future Brock Lesnar vs Finn Balor match. This came after Paul Heyman spoke with Balor inside of the ring on RAW, calling him the greatest in-ring talent on the roster today.
It was reported a few months ago that Balor was a likely opponent for Lesnar at one of the WWE Pay-Per-View events prior to Wrestlemania 34.
According to some new rumors this might not be the case anymore.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Meltzer spoke about Balor and his current feud with Elias Samson. Meltzer says that WWE is (essentially) killing time with Finn at the moment and that is why he is feuding with ‘the drifter’.
Meltzer says that it doesn’t look like we will be seeing a Balor vs Brock match (for the Universal Title) anymore. It appears as if the office has changed their minds about this potential match happening this year. While it still could happen one day, it doesn’t seem likely based on what has happened over the past few weeks on WWE television.
As reported prior, it looks like Reigns vs Brock is the plan for Summerslam and this could mean Lesnar dropping the title.

Maybe Lesnar vs Balor will happen one day but it doesn’t look like it will happen in 2017. Maybe they are saving it for next year? Take all rumors with a grain of salt!
