You might have noticed this week on Smackdown Live, Jinder Mahal cut a promo about his match against Randy Orton at Money in the Bank. Jinder will defend his WWE Championship at the event against Orton, who will be in his hometown of St. Louis.
During Jinder’s promo, he spoke about Randy’s father: ‘Cowboy’ Bob Orton being front row for the match. He also said Cowboy will be with “some other stars of the past’.
So who will those stars be?
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that these names will likely be: Larry ‘the Axe’ Hennig, Ric Flair, Baron Von Raschke and Greg Gagne.
There was also rumors of Gerald Brisco, Rocky Johnson and Ted DiBiase possibly appearing.
This probably indicates that these legends will have some sort of involvement in the match between Orton and Jinder. If we had to guess, WWE could use it as a way to draw some more heat towards Jinder.
We will have to see what ends up happening. It is clear that these legends will play some role in the event on Sunday.
