It was announced during the ‘Superstar Shake-Up’ that David Otunga would be moving from Smackdown to RAW in exchange for Byron Saxton. Shortly after, WWE announced that Otunga would be taking a six-week hiatus to film a movie.
Otunga returned at Extreme Rules for the kickoff show, but has not taken his place back on commentary. Instead, Booker T remains in that position.
There are some rumors floating around that Otunga might have lost his spot on the announce team due to the performance of Booker T. This makes sense considering Otunga appeared on the kickoff show for WWE and was not back in the booth for RAW.
The co-host of Booker T’s show Heated Conversations announced recently that Booker would be sticking around on commentary until the end of the summer:

We will have to wait and see if Booker T has earned the job full-time.

Note: this is tagged as a rumor so take with a grain of salt. Something is certainly up with Otunga not being back in the commentary booth and we will have to wait and see.
