Plans For The Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way Winner

At Extreme Rules on Sunday night, there will be a fatal 5-way match. Roman Reigns will take on Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins. The winner will earn themselves a WWE Universal Title shot against Brock Lesnar.

Here are some of the latest rumors on the match and the plans for the winner.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), the plans are still for Braun Strowman to return and face Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. Strowman has been out of action for the past few weeks after undergoing elbow surgery. WWE says that he could be out for 6 months but it seems likely that he will be back a lot sooner.

As a result of this, Meltzer says that the feud between the winner of the fatal 5-way match and Brock will be a quick program. That means a single match at the Great Balls of Fire Pay-Per-View and no rematch.

This certainly makes things interesting. We have to think about the potential winners and who WWE will want to save for feuds against Brock that last longer than only one Pay-Per-View match.

Also, according to a report from Wrestlezone, Brock is being advertised locally to face Bray Wyatt at the June 26th RAW in Los Angeles. This will likely be a dark match after the show but could indicate a future match between the two. Nothing definitive but something to think about. Bray seems like a top candidate for a one-match throwaway opponent for Brock (but that is only speculation by us).
