Aiden English’s Future After The Departure Of Simon Gotch

As noted prior, Simon Gotch was released by WWE on April 5th. Gotch was one-half of the Vaudevillains tag-team that won Tag Team Gold in NXT. The team was on Smackdown Live for the past several months but didn’t do much of prominence on the main roster.

With Gotch’s departure, this leads to the question… What is WWE going to do with Aiden English?

Will they find someone else to form the Vaudevillains? Or Will he get repackaged? Will he be sent back to NXT?

There are some rumors going around that WWE might try out his previous gimmick in NXT on the WWE main roster. If you are unfamiliar, English wrestled as “The Artiste” in NXT, where he would sing before, during and after his matches. There are some videos on Youtube if you are curious about how his voice sounds.

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), English could be in for a mini singles push now that Gotch is gone. Not a push to the main event scene or anything but one that have him featured in the mid-card of either RAW or Smackdown Live.

It will be interesting to see what happens with him. The singing gimmick has a chance to be a big hit or a massive flop. Doesn’t seem like there is much in between. English is a solid worker in the ring and hopefully it works out for him.

Let us know what you think in the comment section below. What would you do with him if you were WWE? As always, take rumors with a grain of salt.
