CM Punk is a name that a large majority of wrestling fans want to see return to the ring. He is currently involved in a lawsuit with WWE stemming from his comments on Colt Cabana’s podcast last year. He also is coming off a loss in his Mixed Martial Arts Debut at UFC 203.
Punk has been adamant about having no desire to return to WWE. That hasn’t stopped people from asking him about it though.
Here was the original tweet from a fan, asking him if he was returning:
@CMPunk Are the rumors about you returning at Wrestlemania 33 next year true?
— Cameron Zigas (@camzigas) November 18, 2016
Punk’s response:
Yes. I also prevented a Ford plant from moving to Mexico. It’s true. Going to be big. So big. Bigly. Tremendously bigly. https://t.co/u5xj4ZD4Of

Safe to say a return for CM Punk doesn’t sound likely in the near future. I do personally believe that he will step inside a WWE ring. Maybe not for another several years or so until. It seems like Vince McMahon always puts his ego aside for good business. CM Punk returning in a few years would be good business.

in a few years…? he’s 38 now.
if he’s going to come back, it needs to be sooner than later. he could work a TV/PPV schedule. there’s no need for him to do the house show circuit.
people will look at guys like Jericho and say “he’s doing it at 46” … I think its safe to say that punk is not Jericho. Jericho is a brand, and it benefits his entire brand to be seen often and regularly.
I think by the time most male performers turn 40, its pretty much over. his window is closing if he wants to do a lengthy/healthy run.
I wouldnt mind seeing CM Punk back in WWE. I’ve actually never seen him wrestle before… Just a few matches i watched on WWE Network.
I do know that he is beloved by the WWE Universe and surely he’ll make Vince quite a bit of money from merchandise alone.
