Finn Balor has been out of action since Summerslam, where he was injured during his match against Seth Rollins. Balor tore his labrum in the match, forcing him to have surgery. There had been some rumors circulating that he was going to return before 2016 ended at the upcoming Roadblock event. Balor had been advertised by the arena to appear, giving off the impression that he could be back sooner than later.
Balor was recently interviewed by ScreenGeek.net. During the interview he shot down the rumors of an early return for the Roadblock event:
“So I believe a lot of rumors went around this week about Finn Balor possibly returning at Roadblock, I think that was literally just a mistake that had been submitted before Summerslam, and that was the projected card, and it hasn’t been updated yet, so that was probably just an advertisement that slipped through the cracks”

Where will he be instead?
“I can 100% guarantee – what date is Roadblock? December 18th? I will 100% guarantee that I will be home with my family and friends at Christmas. I will be back in 2017”

Can’t blame his fans for wanting to see him return sooner than later. I personally have him marked down as one of my surprise Royal Rumble returns for 2016 (check the rest of the list here). Looks like we are going to have to wait a bit longer to see him return to the ring. Hope his recovery is going well and he is on track!
