Vince McMahon Reportedly Furious With The Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman Segment On RAW

Brock Lesnar returned to his home state of Minnesota on RAW this week to respond to Goldberg. It was a strange segment that left people scratching their heads. It looked like Paul Heyman was doing everything in his power to get fans to chant ‘GOLDBERG’, but he was instead met with ‘Suplex’ City chants. It also felt like it ended earlier than expected as Heyman looked surprised when Lesnar’s music hit.

According to Bryan Alvarez on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (via WrestlingInc.com), Vince McMahon was furious with the segment on RAW. Vince was reportedly upset about the crowd reaction that Lesnar and Heyman’s promo received

He expected the crowd to chant for Goldberg when given cues from Heyman but it didn’t happen and they yelled: ‘Goldberg SUCKS’ instead.

The problem is, they booked this segment in BROCK LESNAR’S HOMETOWN. He went to the University of Minnesota and has been billed from Minneapolis his whole career in WWE. He even played for the Minnesota Vikings for some preseason games.

Why would Vince and WWE expect Brock to get booed in Minnesota of all places? That promo would have likely worked in any other arena. Cutting a HEEL promo in his hometown seems like a large rookie mistake by Vince and WWE. They should know better.

As a result, they have killed the momentum that Goldberg brought to the feud when he returned the last week. Just seems like a bad decision and could have been done 10x better.
