Goldberg is one of the biggest stars in the history of pro-wrestling. Here is a collection of Goldberg facts that you might not know. Some come from his life outside the ring and others come from his life pre-wrestling days.
Goldberg Facts That You Might Not Know
1) Goldberg Played In The NFL
Goldberg was drafted to the NFL in 1990. He went in the 11th round of the draft and was selected 302nd overall to the Los Angeles Rams. This came after a solid career at the University of Georgia as a defensive tackle.
His NFL career never really took off though, as he only competed in 14 games in his career for the Rams and the Atlanta Falcons. He was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the 1995 NFL expansion draft but never played a game for the team.

2) Goldberg Has A HUGE Heart
We all know that Goldberg plays a tough guy when he enters the wrestling ring. One of the most unknown facts about Goldberg is that he actually has a massive heart and takes his job as a role model very seriously.
In an interview, Goldberg admits that he never wanted to turn heel (back in 2000) because of the impact it had on his young fans, especially those who were sick:
“The heel run, I didn’t want to do it to begin with because of the kid thing. I did so much with Make-A-Wish. I did a lot of stuff, man, to where I knew it would crush these kids’ hearts. Ironically, the night that I turned heel, I had a Make-A-Wish girl who had cancer, okay? So what’s the night that I turned heel? What did I do? Do you remember? I wrestled Hacksaw [Jim Duggan]. What did Hacksaw come back from? [Cancer] Thank you very much” (Source: The Steve Austin Show, H/T:WrestlingInc).
He continued:
“So what affect do you think I had on that little girl when I came into that locker room? Whether it was a shoot or whether it was a work or whether I was getting paid millions of dollars, I still got a heart, a big heart. And f*** everybody who can’t see beyond the things that they read because I really don’t care about those people, but I am a really caring person and that tore me apart”(Source: The Steve Austin Show, H/T:WrestlingInc).
Great guy.
