Goldberg – Big Update On A Potential Return To The Company

Much speculation has been made about Goldberg possibly returning to the WWE for one last match. Goldberg is currently featured in the new WWE 2k17 video game, where he is an unlockable character. Could he be returning to the WWE for one final match??

Dave Meltzer on the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio says that the WWE is in serious talks with Goldberg about a return. He isn’t 100% but he says that a deal could already be in fact done, that would see Goldberg return for a short time to the company.

Goldberg will be on ESPN’s Sportscenter this week to discuss the new video game along with his current relationship with the WWE.

  1. goldberg? smh. he was barely relevant when he was here some 13 years ago or so. seriously, why does anyone want to see this spectacle? its simply a money/attention grabbing desperate move on the part of the WWE. they’re only doing this because WWE is at a scary point in terms of ratings and are looking to pop a rating in efforts to boot an easy couple MNR ratings. I doubt there would be any serious investment put into a one time match b/t one guy who appears 5 times a year, against another guy we haven’t seen in 13 years – coincidentally both were boo’ed out the building.

if WWE was really serious about their product and fixing the ratings issue, I think there are a number of things they can do besides pinning these two buffoons together…

first off: leave a blank check on the doorstep of phil brooks aka CM Punk’s house.

second, bring kurt angle back on a TV basis. he doesn’t need to work house shows and he doesn’t have to wrestle every TV, maybe just once a month, but give him an active role on TV.

third, fire all the writers on RAW. it is atrocious to watch. hire young writers w/ good ideas. don’t just hire writers to come up w/ good ideas. make them show you a years worth of TV before you even consider them for a writers position. also, WWE only needs like 5 writers per show – RAW and Smack Down. way too many cooks in the kitchen from what I hear.

four, look to acquire talents from ROH: jay lethal, dalton castle, bobby fish, the young bucks, and some people like adam cole.

five, debut nakamura on the main roster. wrestlers have only so many bumps in them. there’s no need in keeping him down in NXT any longer when he can be making you money and ratings for your flagship shows.

if you do all these things you may be able to keep raw at 3 hours because you have enough good talent to warrant a 3 hour show. also, you could keep the brand split. but as it stands right now, raw is hurting bad. smack down is fine because they are utilizing their pieces properly and its not the same old tired show week after week.
