As you likely have heard by now, there have been rumors about the WWE bidding on TNA, which is currently up for sale. The rumor is that the WWE is interested in the tape library and some of their talent. Billy Corgan is also interested in purchasing majority ownership of TNA.
Corgan recently appeared on The Dan Le Batard Show where he discussed all things going on with the sale of TNA right now.
He was asked how he could possibly win a bidding war with Vince McMahon and the WWE:
“We don’t and that is the simplest part of the equation. If Mr. McMahon wants to buy the company, there is nothing you or God can do to stop him. So there is that, but outside of that, as of this moment, that has not happened. It doesn’t appear to be happening or I think I would know about that because I have a piece of the company and I’d have to be informed of that” (Source: The Dan Le Batard Show).
Take it with a grain of salt but Billy denies that the WWE has even placed a bid on the company.

He also praised the WWE in the interview as the benchmark as sports entertainment. He does believe that another wrestling company can exist and thrive as a separate entity.
