Rene Dupree Talks About The WWE Planting CM Punk Fans In Arenas

You might remember Renee Dupree from his time in the WWE from 2003 to 2007. He has won both the WWE Tag Team Championship (with Kenzo Suzuki) and the World Tag Team Championship (as La Resistance). During his time in the WWE he had some matches against CM Punk.

In a recent interview with The Hannibal Show, Dupree says the WWE would plant CM Punk fans in the crowd in order to manipulate Punk’s popularity.

Here is what he said:

“Yeah. They would do chants, and then it’s like a ripple effect. They hear chants, chants, chants and then try to get the people up. CM Punk or ECW shirts, I’d see like three or four guys scattered around the arena. And I was like ‘wow’, but I guess if you really want to get somebody over” (Source: The Hannibal Show)

Let us know what you think of his claims. Seems a little odd that the WWE would be planting CM Punk fans.

Speaking of Punk, he is a part of one of the WWE’s five matches that has received a 5 star rating in history. You can check out the full list here.

  1. Anybody can start a chant but the other people have to believe it in order to start “chanting” along with him.

CM Punk was over, he didnt need WWE planting people to start chants for him.

Im calling BS on this guy.

    • Not sure if Dupree is talking out of his ass or not, but let’s face it, WWE took great pains to try and catapult CM Punk into the top spot. His 400+ day title reign, beating The Shield in a handicap match (when teams of three top stars repeatedly fail to beat The Shield)…but for all their efforts, Punk still couldn’t draw enough to be in a PPV main event unless he had an opponent named John or Dwayne.
