CM Punk lost his octagon debut at UFC 203 against Mickey Gall in the first round. Punk charged towards Gall as the bell rang and was taken down immediately. Gall was able to get Punk onto his back before he delivered a rear-naked choke for the victory. Many were curious if the WWE would acknowledge the fight, it looks like they subtly did.
It looks like Dolph Ziggler and The Miz spoofed the CM Punk fight to begin their match. The Miz charges directly at Ziggler, who immediately takes him down. Ziggler pounds the Miz on the ground before taking his back and locking in a rear naked choke. Thankfully for the Miz, this is pro-wrestling and rope breaks exist. Way too similar to be by coincidence right?

Pretty interesting stuff that might have went unnoticed if you weren’t paying attention. Was this WWE taking a shot at Punk without officially mentioning it?
