Samoa Joe Comments On Conor McGregor’s Insults At WWE, Wrestlemania 33 Opponent

Conor McGregor made headlines in the wrestling world last week when he took some shots at the WWE and their current roster. Samoa Joe was one of the few WWE stars that were NOT outraged by the comments. On Twitter he said he wasn’t going to take the ‘bait’ from the Irishman trying to sell his fight. In a recent interview with Forbes, Samoa Joe dismissed McGregor’s comments and also expressed a desire to face Brock Lesnar.

Joe dismissed McGregor’s comments:

“I think Conor McGregor is a promoter, and I’m not here to promote any of his fights. If he were here in WWE, that would be a different story, but until that happens I don’t feel like I need to address it” (Source: Forbes).

He also is pulling for Brock Lesnar at Summerslam [in his match against Randy Orton], so he can face him:

“For selfish reasons, I’d like to see Brock stand tall until I get my hands on him. I’d like to see Brock pull through so I can get my shot at him” (Source: Forbes).

If Samoa Joe had his way, that match would take place at Wrestlemania 33.

Joe has his hands full this weekend as well as he takes on Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT Takeover Brooklyn 2. The match had been garnering a lot of hype and should be incredible. Both guys are incredible wrestlers and will want to steal the show for the NXT Championship.

Let us know what you think of his comments! I think he is one of the few WWE stars that realized McGregor was only trying to bait them. It appeared to have worked as a large number of stars took to twitter to respond.
