As we reported earlier, Brock Lesnar will NOT be suspended by the WWE after he failed an anti-doping test following his UFC fight a couple weeks ago. The reason he will not be suspended was revealed to be because he is a part time wrestler for the WWE and their wellness policy only covers full timers. This had a lot of people upset because it basically gives Lesnar a free pass to do what he wants. It also puts into question the legitimacy of WWE’s wellness policy.
On the debut episode of the Bischoff On Wrestling podcast, Eric Bischoff spoke about the WWE’s decision not to suspend Lesnar. Here is what he said:
“I’m kind of surprised, frankly. The WWE has done such a great job over the last decade of really enforcing their wellness policy and really taking the lead in some respects. They have a much more aggressive stance than a lot of professional sports organizations. To accommodate a situation like this, especially under the circumstances, given the spotlight that Brock has been under as a result. Not only participating in the UFC but winning his fight and then subsequently failing a drug test. I’m a little surprised because it really opens the door for a lot of criticism towards the WWE Wellness Policy. They run such a tight ship there that quite frankly I’m surprised” (Source: Bischoff On Wrestling).
I agree with him that this now opens the door for some criticism towards the WWE about their wellness policy.

If part time guys are allowed to take what ever they want, is it really fair to the wrestlers who work 300 days a year?? I really think this decision could lead to some scrutiny about their policy moving forward. Let us know what you think in the comment section below!
Lesnar needs to be punished in some way: Suspend him, fire him like they did Billy Gunn, dock his pay, make him forfeit his pay for SummerSlam altogether, it doesn’t matter, but he needs to be punished. For Lesnar to sit at home, only working a handful of days a year for more money, and then skate on juicing is insulting to the locker room and the fans. It makes the Wellness Policy look like a joke. Either all the Superstars are held to the same standard, regardless of their part-time or full-time status, or the policy should be scrapped. Part timers should not be above the rules that the rest of the locker room has to follow.
