Triple H Reveals What The NXT Takeover The End Name Means

Triple H almost gave fans a heart attack by saying right of the start of his post: NXT Takeover The End Q&A that it was THE END of NXT….. He right away says that he is only joking.

He mentions that The End is referring to the end of the Samoa Joe and Finn Balor feud like everyone was expecting.

He says it also means that NXT has grown so much from its start as WWE’s developmental system. He says the name means that it is the end of the beginning of where NXT started as purely developmental. He honestly thinks that NXT is its own brand within the WWE. He says that we are now NXT the brand and that is where they are going to take it from here.

Interesting comments for sure. I think after the last couple NXT Takeover events it has been obvious that NXT isn’t just a developmental system, it is its own brand already. Will be interesting to see how this develops and how NXT grows from here.

  1. “He says the name means that it is the end of the beginning of where NXT started as purely developmental…” WHAT? What the hell does this poorly formulated sentence by a high-ranking company official even mean? Too many blows to the head it seems.

  2. i think he probably means that NXT (what we see on TV) is a traveling show. it is no longer SIMPLY training & featuring green wrestlers. I believe he means the training will continue… but STARS will make up what we see on TV, and not until they are reliable, will you see them featured on NXT TV.

essentially, proven indy stars will (most likely) be the make-up of the NXT show/brand. WWE/NXT will still inquire/hire people outside of wrestling and train them, but will not feature them until they are proven.

NXT has simply outgrown the initial ‘training ground’ concept and now has morphed into a third brand.
