‘Orange Is The New Black’ Creator Reportedly Working On Women’s Wrestling Series

WOMENNew Women’s Wrestling series could be coming soon!

According to a report from Diva-Dirt.com, ‘Orange Is The New Black’ creator Jenji Kohan is working on a Women’s wrestling series for Netflix. The show will apparently be based on the Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling (GLOW) promotion that began in the 1980’s. There was already a documentary on the promotion titled: GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, which apparently was the inspiration for the series. If their report is accurate, the show has some solid Hollywood people involved, including Kohan and Nurse Jackie writers: Carly Mensch & Liz Flahive.

The show still needs to be picked up by a network and much more needs to happen for this to come about but it is an exciting idea! If you have seen ‘Orange is The New Black’ you would know they have many diverse and strong female characters. With the rise of Women’s Wrestling in WWE over the past year I think this could be a big hit! I can only imagine they would cast some current female talent to appear in the show in some capacity!
