John Cena hosting ESPN’s Hit Show ‘SportsNation’ a couple years back. He will get another sports hosting gig in July on a much bigger platform.
It was announced on Thursday on Twitter that John Cena has landed a major hosting gig. Cena was announced as the host for the 2016 ESPY Awards on Wednesday July 13th 2016. The ESPY’s are an award show that commemorate the top athletes and teams from the sporting world for that calendar year. The show is know for having some major celebrities host like: Drake, Justin Timberlake, Samuel L Jackson and many more. Being in that company is an achievement in itself for Cena. Cena announced the news on his twitter account:
Honored and excited to host the 2016 @ESPYS. Wednesday, July 13 will be a date to remember, I promise that. pic.twitter.com/W86wQtgiIP

The WWE posted on their website:
“Cena — who hosts the reality TV competition series “American Grit” on FOX — will be joined by top athletes and celebrities to commemorate the past year in sports by recognizing major achievements, reliving unforgettable moments, and saluting the leading performers and performances. The ESPYS raise more than $1 million annually for The V Foundation, the charity founded by ESPN and the late basketball coach Jim Valvano to promote cancer research. In 2016, WWE partnered with The V Foundation to expand Connor’s Cure, a fund dedicated to pediatric cancer research” (Source: WWE.com).
Great news for Cena and the WWE. John Cena is a funny guy and this is a great platform for him to showcase his humor. Should be a fun event for wrestling and sports fans alike! Anytime the WWE gets some recognition within the sporting world it is a positive thing for the company!
