Damien Sandow release.
As you likely have heard by now, Damien Sandow was released by the WWE last week. This left many fans wondering what his next move would be after WWE. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, he mentions that he wants to improve as an actor. He also has been announced for a couple of independent wrestling shows to give back to his fans (thank you tour)! He doesn’t rule out a full-time return to another wrestling company one day!
Sandow says he wants to keep improving as a performer. Including movies and maybe even some Shakespeare:
“It’s really funny you ask that. I was in town the other day, and ran into one of my friends, and he said, “I know people who are into Shakespeare.” So on Monday, I’m going to start studying Shakespearean acting. Am I going to rule out doing Shakespeare? Absolutely not. It’s about sharpening my sword as much as I can. As an actor, I want to be ready to do whatever comes my way. Right now, most of the offers have been in film. That is something that I’ve wanted to do. I’m kind of surprised at the offers I had. But it’s all about making the smartest move. Right now the focus is film, but I want to learn as much as I can about acting” (Source: Rolling Stone).
On if he would work for another wrestling company full time like ROH, TNA ect:
“When you say full-time, full-time in the WWE is very different than full-time elsewhere. I am not going to rule out anything. I don’t want to limit myself. It’s not like when I finish up my “Thank You Tour,” I’m going to be burning my boots. It is an aspect of performance, and if I can use whatever avenue to perform. If the fans want it, and they’re digging it, if it coincides with whatever project I decide to take, then I’m open to anything. It’s a very exciting time, and I’m not opposed to performing in a wrestling ring. You never know” (Source: Rolling Stone).
We know he can act after the whole Damien Mizdow angle. I wish him luck as his career moves forward!
