WrestleMania 17 has come and gone. Now it is time for the Backlash, Stone Cold defends his WWF Championship against Triple H in a No Holds Barred Match. William Regal defends his Intercontinental Championship against Chris Jericho in a Dutchess Of Queensbury Rules Match and E&C defend the WWF Tag Team Championship against The Brothers of Destruction. But while the WWF superstars look to settle scores. Little do they know things are about to change thanks to Shane McMahon and WCW

On Sunday Night Heat

WWF European Championship Match Jeff Hardy def. Eddie Guerrero (c) to win the title
– Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn attempted to interfere until Matt Hardy comes out and stopped Saturn while Lita would hurricrana Malenko which gave enough of distraction to Eddie allowing Jeff to hit the Twist of Fate and the Swanton to win the title

Main PPV

Backstage: Vince McMahon
– Vince McMahon arrives to open up the PPV in the parking lot and Vince meets with security
– Vince tells the security that they need to keep there eyes open because after Shane’s threat on Smackdown he wants them to keep a eye out for anybody that is not a contracted member of the WWF roster who may very well be the WCW superstar that Shane promised would make a appearance tonight

Hardcore Title: The Big Show (c) def. Raven to retain the title

Backstage: Shane McMahon
– Security is shown searching the parking lot and they see a limo arrive with the license plate “WCW” and see it is Shane McMahon arriving in the building and Shane looks at security and notices they are a little suspicious of Shane’s license plate and Shane quips “Dig the new plates guys? WCW could always use new security”

Dutchess of Queensbury Rules Match For The WWF Intercontinental Championship: William Regal (c) def. Chris Jericho to retain the title
– Jericho beats Regal twice to win the title, but Regal keeps changing the rules and finally pins Y2J after putting his feet on the ropes during a backslide to retain the title

Best 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match: Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle ends in a 1-1 draw
– Angle won the first fall making Benoit tap out to the Ankle Lock
– Benoit makes Angle tap out to the crossface to win the second fall – The Match ends in a draw when Angle hit a top rope Angle Slam to the floor and both men could not make it back into the ring before the count of 10
-Angle continues to attack Benoit after the count out and locks him in the Ankle Lock before officials can come out and pull Angle off of Benoit

Last Man Standing Match: WCW Owner Shane McMahon def. WWF Owner Vince McMahon – Toward the end of the match WCW Wrestler Mike Awesome comes out through the crowd and lays out Vince McMahon with the awesome bomb and Shane with Awesome holding Vince down on the table hits the top rope elbow drop through the Spanish announce table and Shane was able to get up on his own at the count of 8 and beat the count as Vince was unable to beat the count of 10
– After the match, members of the WWF roster led by the APA come out and chase off Awesome and Shane who escape through the crowd as members of the roster check on Vince

WWF Women’s Championship Match: Chyna (c) def. Trish Stratus to retain the title
– Trish fights hard but Chyna wins after hitting Trish with the powerbomb

WWF Tag Team Championship Match E&C (c) def. The Brothers of Destruction to retain the titles
– The referee gets knocked out when The Undertaker accidently big boots the ref when he was aiming for Edge
– Kane ended up taking out Christian with a chokeslam but Edge would take Kane out with a spear and The Undertaker would hit Edge with a chokeslam of his own and signaled for The Last Ride
– A masked man came out to the ring and attempted to hit Taker with one of the WWF Tag Team Titles but Taker would hit him with a big boot. Another masked man would come out but Taker would catch him and had his hand around his throat but Edge would lay out Taker with a Steel Chair shot across Taker’s skull. The first masked man would revive the ref and get him back in the ring as Edge made the cover as the referee counted 3 giving E&C the victory

No Holds Barred Match For The WWF Championship: Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) def. Triple H w/Stephanie McMahon to retain the title – The match would be brutal and both would bleed during the match
– Stephanie and Rikishi would interfere as Stephanie would pull the referee out after Austin had hit HHH with a stunner and Stephanie would field goal kick the referee in the nuts leading to Rikishi coming out and hitting Austin with the superkick
– Triple H would grab the sledgehammer as Rikishi would hold Austin up but Austin would kick HHH in the gut and would fight off Rikishi but Rikishi seemingly got the upper hand with a headbutt. Rikishi would accidently hit HHH with a superkick leading to Austin hitting the stunner on Rikishi and then hitting another stunner on HHH when HHH attempted to hit Austin with the sledgehammer as a second referee came out and counted the 3 to give Austin the victory
