Fantasy Booking: WWF 2001: WWF vs WCW – Prologue

Welcome to the Fantasy Booking section on IWNerd.com. This is something we thought we would try since a lot of our readers have amazing ideas. If you want to fantasy book something, use the contact section on our site and get in touch with us! This was written by Damien Drain @DaDrainPipe on Twitter if you want to get in touch with him.

Introduction:  On March 26th 2001 6 days before WrestleMania 17, Vince McMahon purchased WCW effectively ending the Monday Night Wars. Raw and Nitro held the first ever simulcast between both shows as at the end of the night it was revealed Shane McMahon had “purchased” WCW. This would lead to the infamous Invasion Angle where it is universally considered one of if not the worst angles in wrestling history. But what if big stars such as Sting, Ric Flair and the nWo had come over during this time right after WCW was bought out? I will attempt to give the answer to that question in this fantasy booking in my eyes of how I would of booked it as Stone Cold Steve Austin has not turned heel. But with the impending threat of WCW can WWF survive an Invasion…the likes of which never seen before… This week will be the prologue, keeping some of the match results from WrestleMania 17 and adding in some twists!!

  1. Heh, the ultimate change of keeping Austin face. Nice swerve of him still having Vince helping him, only to stun him afterwards. XD
