Enzo Amore being rushed to the hospital at WWE Payback.
Enzo Amore was injured at WWE Payback in the opening match of the show. It looked initially that Enzo could be seriously hurt after the slow-mo video came out (watch here). It was initially feared that Enzo might have suffered a broken neck during the match as it looked pretty bad. Bret Hart was in attendance of WWE Payback and revealed the backstage reaction on the most recent episode of the Sharpshooter show. This is what he said:
“It was pretty serious. There was almost like a gut churning, black cloud over everybody’s demeanor. Flair looked like somebody shot him in the chest. He was horrified. He said to me, “He broke his neck.” They took him to the hospital. He seemed very upset and a lot of the other wrestlers were upset. Luckily within a few minutes everyone was like, “Nah, it’s ok. He’s hurt. He’s got concussion symptoms but he didn’t break his neck.” There was a lot of relief” (Source: WrestleZone).
Sounds like many WWE stars feared the worst. Always love hearing someone was was backstage’s perspective on the topic. I had the same reaction as Flair, I thought Enzo broke his neck for sure. Happy to hear that Enzo didn’t suffer a broken neck and only (and I say that lightly) suffered a concussion. Hopefully Enzo is able to come back in the next couple weeks after passing all the concussion testing. The pop for Enzo when he returns will be great!

Could you imagine how Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn had to feel going out there immdiately after & having to pretend they arent worried as they have to put on a match. Man, thats intense.
