Steve Austin Has High Praise For The Roman Reigns vs AJ Styles Match At WWE Payback.

Stone Cold Steve Austin had some high praise for the Roman Reigns vs Aj Styles main event at WWE Payback  on Sunday. On episode 321 of his podcast The Steve Austin Show, the WWE legend broke down the WWE Payback PPV from top to bottom. He gives a lot of credit to both Reigns and Styles and loved the main event between the two. Here were some of the highlights:

Steve Austin praised Reigns (with subtle praise to Styles mixed in), saying it was probably Roman’s best match of his career:

“Roman Reigns, man I’ll take my hat off to you, you went in there with a world class talent. AJ carried the match but Roman Reigns was there every step of the way. I watched this match and I was so fascinated and so intrigued by it. Roman was never shaken by any of the crowds chants, he stood [tall] whether they cheered or booed. His resolve, the way he sold everything, the way he was much stronger in  the beginning. The way AJ had to work him down, get him down to his strength level, drain some gas out of his tank. .. Phenomenal job by Roman Reigns and no pun intended but this was, and he’s had a couple of really good matches. To me, I think this is the best match that I’ve ever seen Roman Reigns in (Source: The Steve Austin Show 321).

On Aj Styles and his future with the WWE: 

AJ Styles jumped off the chart for me and he’s definitely a superstar. And I hope the WWE has huge plans for this guy because that’s how much i enjoyed this match. that’s how much I enjoyed the heart and soul that both guys put into this” (Source: The Steve Austin Show 321)
