We have reported prior about the ongoing saga between the UFC and Conor McGregor. Conor McGregor claimed he was back on the card for UFC 200 and Dana White denied his claim. It looks like the situation has been solved, at least for UFC 200 as a new main event has been announced. Jon Jones who is coming off a victory at UFC 197 against Ovince St. Preux will now take on long-time rival Daniel Cormier in the main event for the UFC Light-Heavyweight Championship.
The UFC announced this on Wednesday:
The rivalry continues!!!! @dc_mma vs @JonnyBones will headline #UFC200 July 9th!! https://t.co/hVKGnvNGQV pic.twitter.com/qwKKokpDYo

Professional wrestling fans would appreciate this feud as it has been going on for the last year or so with both guys sharing a clear hatred for one another. Can’t wait to see how they build this heading into UFC 200 in July!
Here is the rest of the card so far (still a co-main event fight to be added possibly):
- Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier (Light-Heavyweight Championship).
- Jose Aldo vs Frankie Edgar (Interim Featherweight Championship).
- Miesha Tate vs Amanda Nunes (Women’s Bantamweight Championship).
- Cain Velasquez vs Travis Browne.
- Johny Hendricks vs Kelvin Gastelum.
- Gegard Mousasi vs Derek Brunson.
- Diego Sanchez vs Joe Lauzon.
- Sage Northcutt vs Enrique Marin.
- Jim Miller vs Takanori Gomi.
- Cat Zingano vs Julianna Pena.
The event is on July 9th 2016. Looks like a pretty solid card and the UFC has said that they are still going to add another big fight potentially!
