Billy Gunn’s Wife Rips The WWE Over Their Treatment of Chyna, Deletes Twitter

billy gunnBilly Gunn’s wife rips the WWE on Twitter (screenshot as original was deleted).

As you likely have heard by now, Chyna has sadly passed away at the age of 45. Tributes have been pouring in from people within the WWE, including Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. This has made some people angry because the WWE has avoided mentioning Chyna over the past couple of years because of her work as an adult film actress and other personal problems. Now that she has passed away, the WWE is mentioning her again in a positive light.

One of these people that is not happy with the WWE is apparently Billy Gunn’s wife Paula Sopp. She tweeted that (likely the WWE, Stephanie and Triple H) were hypocritical for acknowledging Chyna’s death after they ignored her for years. Her tweet (and twitter account) has been deleted because of the flack she was likely taking online. I would like to hear more from her perspective but unfortunately she deleted her account and this screenshot is all we have. Her husband, Billy Gunn was fired from the WWE in November 2015 for testing positive for elevated levels of testosterone at a weightlifting event. He was working as a coach at the WWE performance center at the time and currently wrestles some independent shows.

She will likely get a lot of flack for this but she does make a decent point. Is it right that the WWE had ignored Chyna when she was alive and now are starting to acknowledge her when she passes away? I have heard both sides of this debate. In one way, the WWE was smart because Chyna was a bit of a wildcard and including her on WWE TV in her state could have been a disaster. Also since the WWE is PG, her adult film background was smart to avoid. Other people argue that the WWE has far worse people in the Hall of Fame than Chyna and she deserved her place.

Let us know what you think of the original tweet and where you stand on the debate!

  1. Well so many wrestlers have walked through the WWE door. They can’t take care and keep track of every single one. No duh they are going to mention her now that she’s passed. What if they didn’t say anything? Then people would be mad. Now that they are acknowledging her after her Passing, ppl are mad.

Its like your cousin or aunt. You’re not calling thwm every single day, checking up on them or anything. Just on certain occasions. You don’t know when they are gonna die, but as soon as they do, they become your only thing in your mind. Same with Chyna, she was 45 years young. No one knew she was gonna pass.

  2. Chyna has no equals in womens wrestling. We have WWE “stars” who were inducted into the Hall of Fame only last month known for using the N word on Mark Henry and flying the Confederate Flag. Another man was honored for being a character that SELLS WOMEN INTO SLAVERY. That was his ENTIRE gimmick! And having sex *without a pimp* is why Joanie Laurer has been looked past for years, according to P Levesque. BS.

There would be no revolution among women without her. She may have had her problems, but the biggest one was WWE decimating her *after* she made them money.

  3. The WWE put Chyna down for doing pornography. But it was okay for the WWE to promote Sable and a few others to do a PlayBoy magazine. So what’s the difference between the 2.
