As we saw on RAW, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows interrupted an interview with AJ Styles and the old friends embraced each other. If you are unfamiliar with their history, the trio were together as members of the Bullet Club faction in New Japan Pro Wrestling. During the segment between Roman Reigns and AJ Styles, Anderson and Gallows came to the aid of Styles to beat up Roman Reigns. AJ looked a bit concerned by their actions and really didn’t want their help.
I received a couple comments on Twitter suggesting something similar to this so I am certain I am not the only one who thinks this might happen!
I think what we are going to see at WWE Payback is Anderson and Gallows turning on AJ Styles. This would be a great way for Anderson and Gallows to get some heel heat, attacking the fan favorite AJ Styles and costing him his chance at the WWE Heavyweight Championship. This would also be a pretty good way for them to bring in Finn Balor as their third member in kind of a cool NWO like fashion. Give these guys some heat as a heel faction and let them reign terror over the WWE. This would be a pretty great moment in front of the loud Chicago crowd.
In this scenario, Roman Reigns would keep his title via disqualification after the Bullet Club takes both of them out. I have heard some people suggest Roman Reigns could turn heel and join forces with the Bullet Club which would be pretty great! I don’t think this will end up happening even though I would enjoy it!
I am not really certain how the WWE will book Payback. I am almost certain though that Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows will turn on AJ Styles. If they add a 3rd member still remains to be seen. Can’t wait to see how it plays out!
