The previous two NXT Takeover events have occurred outside of Full Sail University in Orlando, where NXT calls home. NXT Takeover London and NXT Takeover Dallas were both widely successful and entertaining events. NXT is consistently proving that they are a successful brand that can sell out big arenas. NXT still hasn’t forgotten home though as it looks like the WWE will be returning to Full Sail for the next live NXT Takeover special on June 8th 2016.
The WWE announced on Twitter on Friday:
Tix to see @WWENXT at @FullSail go on sale THIS MON., 4/18 @ 10am ET! https://t.co/FlVV2giPqQ
NXT TV Taping: 5/19, 6/9
NXT Live Special: 6/8— WWE NXT (@WWENXT) April 15, 2016
This makes sense considering they usually rotate between big venues and Full Sail. This would set up the Takeover following the one on June 8th for a bigger venue, likely Brooklyn again like last year for Summerslam weekend.
I think this next card could be pretty solid. Maybe have Shinsuke Nakamura challenge Finn Balor for the NXT Championship. Bayley could use her re-match to challenge Asuka for the NXT Women’s title. American Alpha will be set up to defend their tag team titles for the first time, maybe in a re-match against the Revival or against a fresh team. With the main roster promotions for the Vaudevillians, Baron Corbin, Apollo Crews, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady, it will be interesting to see what stars NXT decides to push to take their spots. Still plenty of talent in NXT like Samoa Joe and Austin Aries to make this show exciting!
Let us know your thoughts about NXT going back to Full Sail for the next Takeover event. Also how you think the card could shape up for the event!
