The WWE Announces That WrestleMania 32 Breaks More Records

We all know that the WWE has broken the All-Time WrestleMania Attendance record at WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium. 101, 763 people were claimed to be in the building on April 3rd for WrestleMania 32 which shattered the previous record of 93, 173 at WrestleMania III. On Thursday, the WWE announced that the attendance record wasn’t the only record they broke on Sunday night.

In a press release, the WWE announced the following records broken by WrestleMania 32:

  • Highest grossing live event in WWE history with a total of $17.3 million.
  • The event was the most social in WWE history. Over 2.5 million mentions on Twitter on Sunday for the event. Over 1.3 million of these twitter mentions came during the broadcast of WrestleMania 32. This was a large increase from last year by over 50%.
  • WWE’s online video content during WrestleMania week accumulated over 250 million views (WWE Youtube, WWE APP and WWE.com).
  • The most watched WrestleMania in history with over 1.82 million houses tuning into the event on the WWE Network. They broke the record without having PPV data come in yet.
  • $4.55 million dollars in merchandise sales which was an increase of 37% from WrestleMania 31.

Sounds like WrestleMania 32 was a success for the WWE. I can’t even imagine how much it cost the WWE for all of the props and set designs they used for the event, but it must have cost a fortune. The most-watched numbers are a bit inflated because they did offer WrestleMania 32 free for new subscribers. It will be interesting to find out how many of those stick around with their subscriptions moving forward or just got the network to watch WrestleMania 32.

Regardless I think these numbers show that there is still a large interest in the WWE product, which is great news for the WWE moving forward. Can’t wait until WrestleMania 33 and see if they break any of these new records!
