8 Of The Biggest WWE Rumors Of The Week (January 5, 2019)

2) Competition From AEW (In The Future)

The news of the new promotion, All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has dominated wrestling news for the past several days. This is the new promotion that is funded by Jacksonville Jaguars co-owner, Tony Khan.

The big rumor is that this could eventually become some big competition for WWE. According to a report from Ryan Satin, the AEW contract offers have been for similar money to what WWE offers. This would be a big deal since WWE is always known as the place to go if you want to chase the money as a wrestler.

It is still early, but it is fun to think about some potential competition for WWE down the road.

1) Former WWE Stars Potentially Joining AEW

There are a lot of rumors floating around about some former WWE stars potentially signing with All Elite Wrestling.

Both Chris Jericho and Jim Ross are rumored to have roles with the promotion. That could be both on-camera and behind-the-scenes.

The biggest name rumored though is Goldberg. He fueled the fire when he followed all of the AEW accounts on social media. He would be a pretty big addition to their roster.

This is not to mention any Superstars who could make the jump in 2019. A rumor suggests that some WWE stars will be watching the promotion closely as their contracts expire.
