7 Smackdown Matches To Look Forward To After The 2019 WWE Draft

4) Brock Lesnar vs Chad Gable

This might sound crazy at first glance but I am a big fan of Chad Gable and think that he makes an excellent underdog.

I would eventually like to see Gable face off against someone like Brock Lesnar. Based on Gable’s current character, it might make sense to have him feud with Brock. Brock plays the role of the bully perfectly and Gable would be a great sympathetic babyface.

Lesnar has put on some fantastic matches with guys who are much shorter than him. That includes AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and Finn Balor. Maybe we can eventually see Chad Gable added to that list?

3) Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn

I also have to mention Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn as a match that I am looking forward to seeing.

In my research, I was actually surprised that they haven’t faced off before in a singles match. They were involved together in a triple threat match last year with Finn Balor. That triple threat match was a lot of fun and I would now like to see them face off one-on-one.

If Reigns is going to feud with Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship, that means he will likely also face Sami Zayn at some point. I am down for this match and think that they would be really good.

2) Brock Lesnar vs ‘The Fiend’

Another match that I am interested in seeing is Brock Lesnar vs ‘The Fiend’.

This seems like it could be a solid program for the WWE Championship at some point. Brock dominates almost everybody but it would be interesting to see Bray play some head games with him. ‘The Fiend’ character could even the odds a bit between them.

Bray’s character has also been built up very strongly in kayfabe. As a result, he is one of the few guys on the roster who could believably challenge Brock.

Note: These two have NOT faced off in singles competition before so this still counts. Brock defeated Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper in a 2-on-1 handicap match at Roadblock a few years ago.
