Step 3: Rey Mysterio Wins The Match At Fastlane & Becomes The Number One Contender For The WWE Title
The third step involves Rey Mysterio winning the match at Fastlane, making him the number one contender for Daniel Bryan’s WWE Championship.
This obviously sets us up for Daniel Bryan vs Rey Mysterio at Wrestlemania 35. I think that this would be a really solid Title match for the card.
It would also work from a heel-babyface standpoint. Looking at the current Smackdown roster, this seems like one of the biggest matches that they could do for Bryan at the event.
Step 4: Rey Mysterio Defeats Rowan On Smackdown Before Wrestlemania 35
In the build towards Wrestlemania 35, I see a match happening between Rey Mysterio and Rowan. As we all know, Rowan is the new sidekick/ bodyguard of Bryan.
A match like this would make sense for an episode of Smackdown in the weeks prior to Wrestlemania 35. The idea would be that Bryan wants to soften Mysterio up before their match.
In this scenario, Rey Mysterio would pick up the win against Rowan.
