On Smackdown Live this week, it was revealed that we won’t be finding out Aleister Black’s opponent until the night of Extreme Rules. Here are several WWE stars who could be knocking at Black’s door.
6) Rusev
Somebody that WWE could use in this spot is Rusev. His tag team partner, Shinsuke Nakamura, has just started a feud with Finn Balor. This tells me that WWE has likely split up the Nakamura and Rusev tag team.
That frees up Rusev for a singles feud with Aleister Black. This could be a fun feud and it would be nice to see Rusev featured on Smackdown Live.
Plus, we know that Aleister Black is likely going to win his first (singles) feud/match on the WWE main roster. As a result, Rusev is someone who could take the loss as it doesn’t seem like WWE has plans to push him.
Rusev seems like a candidate to challenge Aleister and is someone to watch out for.
5) Buddy Murphy
Another guy who could work in this spot would be Buddy Murphy. WWE hyped up a few months ago that Murphy was moving from 205 Live to the Smackdown roster. Since then, WWE hasn’t used him at all.
WWE could easily have Black feud against Murphy. I am sure that they would put on an awesome match as both guys are really talented in the ring.
Murphy recently took to Twitter to tease that it could be him at the door:
The only downfall is one of these guys would have to lose their debut PPV match on the main roster. Still, this seems better than Murphy sitting in catering and not being used.
