WWE announced that the King of the Ring tournament will be returning on the August 19th edition of Monday Night RAW. I wanted to share some WWE stars who I think could win the tournament.
5) Samoa Joe
I would love to see Samoa Joe win the King of the Ring tournament.
This would be a great place for Joe to build some momentum. Have him dominate the tournament and choke several people out. After he wins, they could easily transition him to wrestle for the WWE or Universal Championship.
I don’t think that a ‘king’ gimmick would fit for Joe but I could still see him winning. He is definitely not somebody to sleep on.
4) Ricochet
I could see Ricochet as the potential winner of the King of the Ring tournament.
There are rumors that Paul Heyman is extremely behind Ricochet and he could be receiving a big push over the next several months. Maybe that push heats up with a King of the Ring victory?
Ricochet winning would be an interesting way to go. Maybe even WWE could turn the win into some character development for Ricochet. He could call himself the King of Highflyers or something like that.
Plus, he has wrestled as ‘King Ricochet’ in the past, so the moniker would fit. I definitely wouldn’t rule him out as a potential winner.
