3) Try For More ‘Viral’ Moments
Everyone knows that social media is king right now in the world that we live in. This is especially the case if you are a teenager.
I think that WWE should be doing more things to try and go viral so that younger fans get curious about what is going on with WWE. For example, R-Truth defending the WWE 24/7 Championship on the golf course has over 6 million views. This is a segment that didn’t even air on RAW or Smackdown. If I saw this viral clip on Twitter and it made me laugh, I might consider checking out RAW or Smackdown. A lot of people watched WWE as a kid and gave up, so there is a chance that they would be interested in returning to see what has changed. Or, it could drive new fans to give WWE a chance on Monday Night’s.
If more of these segments go viral, that means more people will be talking about WWE. That can only be a good thing for the company. WWE should really attempt to leverage viral clips, memes, and more to try and stay relevant in today’s society. The more that WWE goes viral, the more chances that WWE has to gain some younger fans.
It shouldn’t be overdone, but I think that focusing on viral moments could help appeal to the teenage demographic.
2) The Return Of ‘Cool’ Factions
During the ‘Attitude Era’, there were a ton of cool factions that existed. That includes the NWO, D-Generation X, and more.
Factions are always something that I have loved about pro-wrestling. Growing up, it was cool to wear your NWO T-Shirt to school or to a party. There have been a few good ones recently but it mostly feels like WWE has held back on factions over the years. It is one of the things that I think is lacking about WWE right now in terms of the overall product.
I think that if WWE brings back larger factions and writes them well, it could appeal to the teenage demographic. Maybe WWE builds up the Undisputed Era as this monster faction on the main roster. If they combine them with hip clothing trends, maybe kids start wearing Undisputed Era t-shirts to school? Could be a way to slowly grow that demographic a bit.
In the very least, this should help improve the overall product.
