5 Ways That WWE Can Book Roman Reigns’ Replacement At Wrestlemania 36

3) WWE Says That Roman Reigns Is Injured & Can’t Compete At Wrestlemania

Another option for WWE is to say that Roman Reigns is injured and can’t compete at Wrestlemania 36.

WWE has yet to say “coronavirus” or “COVID-19” on RAW or Smackdown. The rumor is that Vince McMahon has actually banned commentators and Superstars from saying those words on WWE television. As a result, I would be surprised if they actually say that Roman was pulled due to concern with still wrestling during the coronavirus pandemic. This would just make fans wonder about the safety of the other performers.

I could easily see WWE just saying that Reigns is hurt or not medically cleared to compete at Wrestlemania 36. Simple but would get the job done.

In this scenario, WWE would simply announce a replacement match for Goldberg. There will be no time to build a storyline, so they would just have to announce Goldberg’s new match at the event.

2) Roman Reigns Breaks Character To Tell Fans Why He Isn’t Competing

Another option for WWE is for them to have Roman Reigns break character and tell fans why he isn’t competing at Wrestlemania 36.

Reigns could open up about his battle with Leukemia. He could also have a real moment and say that he doesn’t feel comfortable working because of his compromised immune system.

With so little time to go before Wrestlemania 36, this actually might not be the worst idea. It just depends on if WWE wants to go this route.

In this scenario, Roman could announce that he is giving his Title match to another Superstar. He could say that he respects someone like Braun Strowman and wants him to get the opportunity in his place.
