Smackdown will officially move over to FOX on October 4th. I have put together a list of things that WWE needs to do when the show moves over.
5) Actually Keep The Rosters Separate
It was recently announced by WWE that the ‘Wild Card Rule’ will be officially ending. This is great news but I don’t trust WWE to keep their word. I am still worried they will float Superstars between brands from time to time.
When Smackdown moves to FOX, they need to keep their word and actually make sure that the rosters stay separate. This will only help improve long-term storytelling and will make things less confusing.
The only time that Superstars should cross-over is at Survivor Series every year. That will make things much more special at Survivor Series when we see Champion vs Champions matches.
I think that WWE needs to make sure that they keep the RAW and Smackdown rosters separate.
4) Make RAW And Smackdown Feel Different From One Another
If they do go back to a hard brand split, I think that WWE needs to focus on making RAW and Smackdown feel like completely different brands. As of right now, RAW and Smackdown are pretty much the same show but with different Superstars. They both look and feel pretty much the same.
What I would do is make RAW and Smackdown feel like completely different shows. I would try to distinguish them from one another as much as possible. That could be giving them completely different designs. It could be giving one of them a completely different camera angle. It could mean RAW is more of a comedy-based show and Smackdown is more of a sports-based show. You get the picture, make these shows feel different from one another.
The reason for this is I want WWE fans to feel like they are getting a different experience when watching RAW and Smackdown. That way, fans will be excited to watch both shows every week because they know they are getting something different.
They don’t have to go crazy but I think making the shows look and feel different could help WWE out in the long-term.
