A recent rumor suggested that NXT will be playing a role at Wrestlemania 36. Here are some options for what that role could end up being.
5) An NXT Title Match Takes Place On The Main Card Of Wrestlemania 36
An interesting route for WWE to go would be to have an NXT Championship match on the main card of Wrestlemania 36.
We saw this at Survivor Series, where Adam Cole defended his NXT Title against Pete Dunne. This was the first time that an NXT Championship was defended on a main roster PPV. It ended being one of the best matches of the entire PPV.
After the success at Survivor Series, I wouldn’t be surprised if WWE put an NXT Title match at Wrestlemania 36. It could be a great addition to the Wrestlemania card and would really put NXT over as WWE’s third brand.
4) Matt Riddle Faces Goldberg or Brock Lesnar At Wrestlemania 36
Matt Riddle is someone who has talked a lot of trash since joining NXT a few years ago. Two of his main targets have been Brock Lesnar and Goldberg.
Riddle has been very vocal about his desire to retire Brock. It is clear that Riddle really wants to face him before he hangs up the boots. Maybe Riddle will finally get his wish at Wrestlemania 36? This one seems unlikely but you never know.
Another one of Riddle’s targets is Goldberg. For the past few Goldberg matches, Riddle has been very critical of him and his wrestling abilities. Riddle has also started using the Jackhammer during some of his matches. Maybe WWE books Riddle vs Goldberg at Wrestlemania 36? This seems like it has a decent chance of making the Wrestlemania 36 card.
Both are longshots but you never know.
