Roman Reigns was attacked at the end of this week’s episode of Smackdown Live. WWE left things on a cliffhanger, so we wanted to put together a list of guys who could have been the mystery attacker.
5) Samoa Joe
Let’s start with an obvious one. After the attack happened, Samoa Joe’s name came up a lot as being the potential attacker.
It would make sense as Joe and Roman brawled on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. With Roman getting attacked one night later on Smackdown, Joe seems like the prime suspect.
This would set up Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns at Summerslam, which would likely be a solid match.
Joe seems like the top pick as of right now.
4) Drew McIntyre
Another name that came up a lot from fans was Drew McIntyre. A decent amount of people think that Drew was the mystery attacker on Smackdown.
It would make sense as Roman and Drew have been beefing with one another for several months now. Drew could be acting under the orders of Shane McMahon, who has also been beefing with Roman for a while now.
This would set up Roman vs Drew McIntyre at Summerslam. This is a match that we have seen a bunch of times, so I don’t think too many fans would be thrilled.
Still, we have to include Drew on the list of potential attackers based on his history with Roman.
