3) WWE Could Potentially Expand NXT Into Their Third Brand
Another reason is that Triple H could potentially expand NXT into WWE’s third brand.
WWE has plenty of options for NXT based on its popularity. They could expand it to a 2-hour show weekly. Or, they could even put the show live on FOX when the new television deal kicks in.
The idea here would for NXT to become WWE’s third brand. This brand would no longer feel like developmental but would attempt to rival RAW and Smackdown.
If any of that is going to happen, Vince McMahon would definitely want Triple H in charge. NXT is Triple H’s baby and it would make sense for him to not give that up for RAW or Smackdown.
2) Vince McMahon Wants Triple H In Charge For A Potential Wednesday Night War
There are rumors that AEW will potentially hold their weekly television show on Wednesday nights. If that is true, it will be going head-to-head against NXT.
If that does happen, it would make sense for Triple H to remain in charge of NXT. A mini-war between AEW and NXT could be a lot of fun for fans. Triple H seems to be the perfect guy to lead NXT against AEW, to protect their night of the week.
This theory would make some sense. WWE announced recently that they will be streaming EVOLVE’s 10th-anniversary show on the WWE Network. This also happens to be on the same night at AEW’s Fight for the Fallen event. It seems as if the mini-competition between promotions has already begun.
Keeping Triple H focused on NXT seems like the right call for WWE moving forward.
