Here are some potential surprises that could happen at Fastlane!
5) Sami Zayn Returns
Let’s start with a potential surprise return. I think it is possible that we could see Sami Zayn appear at Fastlane.
According to the rumor mill, Sami is ready to return to the ring. He has been out of action for the past several months but is now rumored to be cleared. Zayn is just waiting on some creative direction from WWE.
Sami has been either feuding or aligned with Kevin Owens for his entire WWE career. A safe assumption is that if he does return, it will be during the WWE Championship match between Owens and Daniel Bryan.
It seemed to me like WWE may have planted some seeds for Zayn’s return on Smackdown. Daniel Bryan cut a promo about Owens not having any friends left to watch his back anymore. To me, that seemed like a hint that Sami could be helping out Owens in the near future.
4) A Heel Turn From Either Shane McMahon Or The Miz
Another surprise to keep your eyes on at Fastlane is a potential split between Shane McMahon and the Miz. They will be challenging the Usos for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles at Fastlane.
There have been rumors for a while now that suggest we could be heading towards Shane vs the Miz at Wrestlemania 35. This would require for them to split up as a tag team, which likely means one of them turning on the other to set it up.
As a result, we have to include a potential heel turn on our list. My guess is that it will be the Miz, who is still bitter about Shane taking his place in the WWE World Cup tournament several months ago.
I am not sure that a lot of fans want to see Shane vs the Miz at Wrestlemania 35 but we could see it get set-up at Fastlane.
