3) Kenta
Another option would be for AEW to bring in Kenta for the event. He is probably best known to most fans as Hideo Itami in WWE.
Kenta was released from WWE on February 22nd. Based on simple math, that means his 90-day no-compete clause will have expired by ‘Double Or Nothing’.
Kenta vs Page could be a fun match at the event. It would be a nice surprise for fans and it would likely be a solid match.
I have no idea if Kenta is even interested in working for AEW but I wouldn’t rule him out.
2) Jack Swagger
Another possibility is former WWE star turned MMA fighter, Jack Swagger. He is coming off a win at the recent Bellator 221 event.
Swagger has praised AEW recently, so he seems like a potential candidate to face Page at the event. Here is what he said in a recent interview about AEW:
“Those guys are awesome, it is really impressive what they are doing. It is something I can relate to. Cody and The Young Bucks they invested and took a gamble on themselves and they bet big. Now, it shows they were right. They knew something that was going to fall to the curve and be ahead of the game. Something fun to be a part of how they are doing their storytelling and moving the needle for the first time in decades.
“We have spoken and I think that’s something that will be addressed in the future. As of now, I can’t tell you (regarding an offer from AEW).”
Swagger vs Page could be a solid back-up plan for AEW.
