With Summerslam almost here, I wanted to share some mistakes that I think WWE should avoid making at the event.
Mistake #5) Having Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson Interfere During Ricochet vs AJ Styles
The matches between AJ Styles and Ricochet have been solid so far. While saying that, I still think that both guys are capable of putting on a ‘match of the year’ candidate with one another. I think that WWE should let them go all out at Summerslam. Allow them to have that classic match we have all been waiting for.
One way to do that is for them to limit any involvement from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. I don’t want to see them helping Styles here as I think it would take away from the match. I want Styles and Ricochet to have an uninterrupted match for 15 to 20 minutes at the event. If that happens, I think that we could be in for a treat. On the other hand, if the match features constant interference from Gallows and Anderson, it will take away from it.
My idea is for the referee to ban Gallows and Anderson from ringside early on. That way, Styles and Ricochet can do their thing without any distractions.
Mistake #4) Having Finn Balor Come Out Using His ‘Demon King’ Persona
Finn Balor will be facing off against Bray Wyatt aka ‘The Fiend’ at Summerslam. This comes after Balor has been haunted by Wyatt for the past few weeks.
In theory, these past few weeks could have been setting up Balor using his ‘Demon King’ persona at Summerslam to face ‘The Fiend’. Personally, I think that it would be a mistake.
I don’t want to see Balor use the ‘Demon King’ here as that likely means he will be beating Bray. WWE needs to establish Bray and his new character as a major threat. He needs to win this match against Balor.
Also, If Balor uses the ‘Demon King’ persona and comes up short against ‘The Fiend’, it feels like a waste. WWE has been building up that character for Finn and they shouldn’t just throw that away here. Bray defeating regular Finn gets the job done, without wasting the ‘Demon King’ for the future.
