Here are several of my bold predictions for Summerslam.
5) There Will Be No Title Changes
One of my bold predictions for the event is that I don’t think there will be many belts changing hands, if any at all.
Looking at the current match card, I don’t see any of those Titles changing hands. Brock Lesnar just won the Universal Title, so he isn’t losing. I also don’t see Becky Lynch, Bayley, AJ Styles, Drew Gulak, or Kofi Kingston losing their Titles just yet. It could happen but my gut says that they are all going to retain.
Taking a look at the other matches that haven’t been confirmed, I feel the same way. Shinsuke Nakamura recently won the Intercontinental Championship, so I don’t see him dropping it right away. The O.C and the New Day both recently won their tag team belts, so I doubt that they will lose. As of right now, it looks like none of those belts will even make the card unless they are late additions.
My gut says that there will be zero title changes at this show. And no, I am not counting the 24/7 Title in this prediction.
4) This Will Be One Of The Best WWE PPV’s Of The Year
I think that at the end of 2019, we will look back and say that Summerslam was one of the best PPV events of the year for WWE.
To me, the card is looking pretty solid. Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton is a match that I am really looking forward to. Ricochet vs AJ Styles should be a strong match, same with Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens. Trish Stratus vs Charlotte Flair is the true definition of a past vs present match, which should be really solid. I am loving this card so far and I am optimistic about it.
Out of the matches that have been confirmed, there isn’t anything that I am not really looking forward to. You could say Becky Lynch vs Natalya but I actually think they could surprise us. They have worked together a lot in their careers and will likely have some solid chemistry.
For some reason, I think that this could be one of the top 3 PPV events of the year.
