Job Before Becoming A Wrestler: Stage Actor
Aiden English dabbled in stage acting prior to his jump to the world of professional wrestling.
In an interview with the Whig, he explains that it helped him get into wrestling, something that he has wanted to do since he was a kid:
“I think I used the stage acting as a way for me to kind of get my feet into the whole world of performance and entertainment and everything else because ever since I was kid, I’ve wanted to do this”
Stage acting into wrestling seems like a unique (but smart) transition.
22) Becky Lynch
Job Before Becoming A Wrestler: Flight Attendant / Stage Actress
On her appearance on Talk is Jericho, Becky Lynch revealed that she worked as a flight attendant in her earlier years after she initially quit wrestling.
She got the job because of her mom, who was also a flight attendant. Becky worked for Aer Lingus (based in Ireland) for 4 years.
She also appeared in numerous plays from 2011 to 2012 as a stage actress.
Becky signed with WWE in 2013 and the rest is history.
23) Naomi
Job Before Becoming A Wrestler: Professional Dancer
Before signing with WWE in 2010, Naomi worked as a professional dancer for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association. She also worked for Flo Rida as a background dancer.
From her bio on WWE.com:
“Naomi first turned heads as a dancer for the NBA’s Orlando Magic and hip-hop stars like Flo Rida”
Naomi was a part of the all-female season of NXT in 2010 and has moved up the ranks ever since.
24) The Bella Twins
Job Before Becoming A Wrestler: Waitresses
Both Nikki and Brie Bella moved from their home state of Arizona to Los Angeles after college to try and find success.
In an interview with AZCentral.com, both worked as waitresses at a hotel before finding their fame:
“Both had moved to Los Angeles to get an agent and to waitress at the celeb-filled Mondrian hotel on Sunset Boulevard, hoping to be discovered”
The twins eventually signed with WWE a few years later and went on to find great success.
25) Mickie James
Job Before Coming A Wrestler: Waitress At The Olive Garden
While trying to make ends meet, Mickie James worked at the Olive Garden. Here is what she said an in an interview about her time waiting tables:
“The easiest job to keep when you are wrestling is a waiting job, or something like that. I waited tables at Olive Garden, and a few different places. They’re the only ones that can work with your schedule, and even they get annoyed with your schedule sometimes,”
Mickie eventually broke through in WWE and has gone on to have a very successful career.
