14 Bold WWE Royal Rumble 2018 Predictions

5) SANITY Will Debut

Update: Looks like No SANITY after they appeared at Takeover Philadelphia. Still going with Nikki Cross in the Women’s Rumble.

I think that Nikki Cross is a lock for the Women’s Royal Rumble match. It would make sense with the number of spaces WWE needs to fill. I also think that we could see Nikki alongside SANITY later on in the show.

SANITY is not a part of any major storylines heading into NXT Takeover Philadelphia. I think that this could be an indication that they are heading to the main roster soon. I think that the gimmick could do well on the main roster and they have the support of Triple H (who came up with the gimmick idea himself).

I think that a great place for them to debut would be the Rumble. I don’t know if it will be in the Rumble match to take somebody out or if it will happen during a tag team title match. Regardless, I think there is a chance that they could appear.

They would be a welcome addition to either RAW or Smackdown Live.

6) Bayley Is The Iron-Woman Of The Royal Rumble Match (But Doesn’t Win)

The Iron-Man is defined as the person who lasts the longest in the Royal Rumble match. They don’t necessarily win the match, but they spend the most time in the ring.

I initially was going to choose Becky Lynch for this role when first thinking about it. I have changed my mind and went with Bayley. I think that she needs this.

Fans need a reason to care about Bayley after a disastrous 2017. WWE has to salvage her character and I think that they could put themselves on the right track by having her last a long time in the ring.

I don’t think that Bayley should win, but I think that she should put on an impressive performance to start her off on the right foot in 2018.

7) AJ Styles Will Retain The WWE Title

The odds are certainly stacked against AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble. He will defend his WWE Championship against both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a handicap match.

While the odds are stacked against Styles, I still think that he is going to walk out as the WWE Champion.

I am not sure if WWE will tease some tension between Owens and Zayn during the match, but I don’t think that they will end up as ‘Co-Champions’.

Besides, my hopes are up for Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestlemania for the WWE Title

8) Women’s Royal Rumble Returns

With there still being a lot of open spaces in the Women’s Royal Rumble match, I will guess that there will be a handful of legends from the past returning.

If I had to guess, here are my return predictions:

• Beth Phoenix. She has a history with the Royal Rumble match (entering in 2010).
• Bella Twins. Doubt they will want to miss this history making match.
• Lita. There has to be a reason why she wasn’t invited to RAW 25, right? Hopefully saving her for a surprise entrant.
• Trish Stratus. Would probably get the biggest pop of the match.
