4) Mr. Kennedy As Vince McMahon’s Son
Do you remember the storyline where Vince McMahon had an illegitimate son? The reveal at the end turned out to be Hornswoggle in an underwhelming moment. There were actually some bigger plans for the angle.
According to Mr. Kennedy in an interview with Wrestling INC, he was supposed to be the son of Vince McMahon. WWE changed the plans after he failed the wellness policy:
“I was told [about the angle]. I had conversations with Stephanie and Vince and it was kind of like a big deal-I remember the night that Vince blew himself up in the limousine, Stephanie said, ‘hey, I want to tell you something – we’ve got something really big for you, but I want Vince to tell you himself.’ She was pretty excited about it. And then, so we did the buildup for the next few weeks or whatever. And then, I got in trouble and all that went away.”
That would have been better than Hornswoggle wouldn’t it have been?
3) Wade Barrett vs The Undertaker At Wrestlemania
You might remember when the NEXUS took out the Undertaker on the 900th episode of Monday Night RAW. The Undertaker was wrestling Bret Hart but the match was interrupted by the faction led by Wade Barrett. The segment ended with the Deadman on his back after being taken out by the faction.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this attack was leaving the door open for a potential Undertaker vs Wade Barrett match at Wrestlemania 27 since the company was really high on Barrett.
The match never ended up happening and the Undertaker wrestled Triple H at the event instead. Kane, Big Show, Santino Marella, and Kofi Kingston defeated The Corre (Wade Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, and Justin Gabriel) at the event in under 2 minutes…
Have to wonder how Barrett’s career would have been different if he was able to wrestle the Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
