Another rumor suggests that the NXT call-ups were due to Vince McMahon feeling like his product is stale.

“Vince felt that the reason the ratings are down is because the product is stale, the stars are stale and ‘we don’t have any superstars and these guys that we have aren’t gonna be superstars so we need to make new superstars so we gotta get guys that we haven’t ruined.’”
6) The Original Plans For Asuka’s Opponent At Wrestlemania 35
According to Dave Meltzer, there had been some talk of WWE doing Asuka vs Lacey Evans for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania. Those plans are now being reconsidered.
Here is a quote from Meltzer:
“As far as Asuka goes, I mentioned the thing with Lacey Evans last night. There actually was talkof Asuka and Lacey Evans being the WrestleMania match and it was definitely on the books at one point. But I was let to believe that it was being reconsidered and that it was not a 100 percent ‘no’ and it could happen but it was actually on the books and the point is that it’s not a 100 percent ‘yes’ and it may be more than likely ‘no.
5) A Potential Major Push For Lacey Evans
Speaking of Lacey Evans, there are some rumors that she could be on the receiving end of a massive push.
The rumor is that the top three Women WWE wants to build around (if Ronda Rousey leaves) are Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Lacey Evans.
WWE is really high on Lacey due to her life struggles, military background, and her status as a single mother. There is a feeling that because of her background, there is a chance that she could really connect with the mainstream audience.
