In 2015, WWE aired the sixth season of ‘Tough Enough’. On the female side, the winner was fan-favorite Sara Lee. Coming in second place was current NXT star Mandy Rose. John Bredl was the male winner of the season. He had his name changed to Bronson Matthews for NXT.
We have an update for you on both Sara and Josh courtesy of Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here).
According to Meltzer, Josh (aka Bronson Matthews) is still under contract with WWE. He hasn’t wrestled in over 13 months due to a concussion. There were also some rumors several months ago that he was released by WWE but they turned out to be false.
Sara Lee was released from WWE in 2016. She recently had her first child with NXT star: Wesley Blake. She has apparently started training again to return to the ring according to Meltzer.
Also something interesting to note. Meltzer says WWE officials weren’t thrilled with Sara Lee defeating Mandy Rose in the fan voting. The company felt like Mandy was the much better prospect. Mandy has been featured on NXT Television a few times and looks to have a promising future in the company.
From the same season, Patrick Clark has gone on to achieve the most success so far as ‘the Velveteen Dream’. Also, Daria has appeared on NXT TV a few times as Sonya Deville.
